The PCLS Curriculum Department/Teaching and Learning Team developed the W-o-W! Program to recognize the hard work and creativity of PCLS students.
In an effort to help build a community of writers, the team encourages schools to display the W-o-W’s work and asks teachers to use the W-o-W’s work as part of their writing instruction.
Congratulations to Elm Street Elementary School 4th grader Delliesha Ferguson, who was selected as the next PCLS W-o-W! (Writer-of-the-Week.)
Delliesha was presented with a certificate of achievement and allowed to choose a prize from the Writer’s Toolbox. Delliesha’s teacher, Mrs. Tara Belisle, submitted her opinion essay because “her writing piece is not only written well, but it also is inspirational to read. She discusses the positive benefits of homework and how it helps us achieve our goals and become independent thinkers in life. Delliesha pushed herself to create a polished piece of writing and it deserves to be shared!”
Delliesha will be invited to read her her opinion essay at an upcoming Board of Education meeting.
