PBIS, POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORTS is on the move in Painesville City Local Schools!
PBIS is a systems approach that focuses on preventing behavior problems by teaching appropriate behaviors and rewarding them. Building teams have been hard at work to ready this system for this upcoming 2015-2016 school year. The HHS PBIS Team is building off our positive reward system that was put into place the last few years. The HHS faculty are continuing to hand out and collect Red Raider Pride Bucks which can be redeemed for raffle prizes at the end of the school year, along with monthly drawings. Harvey High School will celebrated it’s 4th Annual Red Raider Pride Day on Friday, May 20, 2016. This special event was sponsored through the Harvey’s Alumni Association and the Alumni Endowment Association. It was a fun-filled event beginning with a Talent Show. Other festivities include an obstacle course, bungee run, mobile video truck, basketball and baseball houses and many other events. Students traded in their pride bucks earned for positive efforts and behavior throughout the school year for tickets to enter into the raffle drawings. Some of the big prizes include a Vizio 40” TV, HP Touch-screen laptop, Firestick, Kindle Fire, Beats headphones, luggage, refrigerator, microwave, Alex and Andy bracelets and over 50 other prizes. We would also like to thank the area businesses and staff members, who donated to this event for our students. A special thank you to The Harvey Alumni Association and Alumni Endowment Association for making this worthwhile event possible! What a great way to end the school year and show the students the results of their positive efforts and behavior.
Go Red Raiders, Keep that Pride Alive!
