The PCLS Curriculum Department/Teaching and Learning Team developed the W-o-W! program to recognize the hard work and creativity of PCLS students.
In an effort to help build a community of writers, the team encourages schools to display the W-o-W’s work and asks teachers to use the W-o-W’s work as part of their writing instruction.
Congratulations to Heritage Middle School 6th grader Cameron Swietlik who was selected as the PCLS W-o-W! (Writer-of-the-Week.)
Cameron was presented with a certificate of achievement and allowed to choose a prize from the Writer’s Toolbox. Her teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Kaplan, submitted her Life on Mars Website Evaluation because “After analyzing two websites, Cameron wrote an impressive argumentative paragraph about which site was the most valid one to use for research. Her thoughtful supporting details overwhelmingly convinced the reader that she had chosen the best site.”
Cameron will be invited to read her evaluation at an upcoming Board of Education meeting.
