The PCLS Curriculum Department/Teaching and Learning Team developed the W-o-W! Program to recognize the hard work and creativity of PCLS students.
In an effort to help build a community of writers, the team encourages schools to display the W-o-W’s work and asks teachers to use the W-o-W’s work as part of their writing instruction.
Congratulations to Elm Street Elementary School 1st grader Zack Norris, who was selected as the next PCLS W-o-W! (Writer-of-the-Week.)
Zack was presented with a certificate of achievement and allowed to choose a prize from the Writer’s Toolbox. His teacher, Ms. Morganne Coleman, submitted his writing because “the students had to come up with what is their best part of them and give reasons on why they think it is the best. Zack chose his heart and gave some really amazing reasons why he thought it was his best part. There are so many reasons out there that a 1st grader would come up with, but I think Zack's show what's most important to him in his life.”
Zack will be invited to read his writing at an upcoming Board of Education meeting.
