In an effort to help build a community of writers, the team encourages schools to display the W-o-W’s work and asks teachers to use the W-o-W’s work as part of their writing instruction.
Congratulations to Chestnut Elementary School 3th grader Jacob Boehm, who was selected as the next PCLS W-o-W! (Writer-of-the-Week.)
Jacob was presented with a certificate of achievement and allowed to choose a prize from the Writer’s Toolbox. Jacob’s teacher, Ms. Marie Miller, submitted his research project, “The Interesting Tasmanian Devil,” because “he … worked really hard on his project. He spent a lot of time researching, summarizing and writing about his animal. He was very descriptive and informative about his animal and relayed the information that he researched in his own words and provided clarifying information for other students learning about his animal.”
Jacob will be invited to read his research project at an upcoming Board of Education meeting.
