Lake Erie College Students Collect 1,900+ Books To Benefit "The PCLS Book Box"

On April 25, 2017, the students from the Education 308 Family and Community Studies course at Lake Erie College presented the process and results of a Service Learning Project to PCLS Administrators; Assistant Superintendent Dr. Josh Englehart, Curriculum Director Wendy Camper and Technology/Federal Programs Director Heidi Fyffe.

Their Service Learning Project was a Scholastic Book Fair held in the Resource room at Garfield Center at Lake Erie College during the week of Monday April 3 though Friday April 7. The goal of the project was to collect books and buy books from funds collected through the Scholastic Book Fair to benefit The PCLS Book Box. The students collected more than 1,900 books!

The Book Box is a summer mobile program sponsored by the PCLS Curriculum Department that stops at four locations in Painesville City allowing students to take books home and swap back for more.
