Family Resource Center Spring Programs

Any Painesville City school family looking to enroll in our adult English as a Second Language program, Growing Reader Story Time, or Healthy Kids program should come in person on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 anytime from 6:00-8:00 PM to complete the registration process. All programs are free and offered on Tuesday evenings beginning February 13th at Elm Street Elementary School.

Adult ESL classes are designed for either beginner or intermediate level parents or responsible high school students who are learning English as a second language. Classes are conversation style and are taught by trained volunteers from our community. Registration is free, but student books are available for purchase for $10. Space is limited, and classes are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Children's programs are also available for ages 3-12. Growing Readers Story Time is offered in English and Spanish by Ms. Andi of Painesville's Morley Library. Children ages 3-6 can come to read fun bilingual stories, practice English and Spanish vocabulary, and make a free craft each week! Parents are required to attend an ESL class or may accompany their child during story time.

We also offer a program for older children ages 7-12 thanks to our partnership with the Lake County General Health District and Lake County YMCA. The Healthy Kids program provides health education and physical activity for students ages 7-12. Space is limited to the first twenty participants.

The last week to register for Family Resource Center spring programs is February 27th, 2018. Please call Amber Torres at 440-392-5548 if you have questions.
