Harvey Students to Attend Week Long Residential Program at Ohio State University

The Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP-Ohio) is an innovative career development program designed specifically for minority high school students. The program takes place for one-week during the summer and provides the opportunity for a select group of students to explore careers in accounting and business while spending a week on a college campus.

During the program, students are introduced to accounting, finance, economics, leadership and management as minority CPAs and business leaders share their experiences, provide tips for success and discuss educational opportunities. Throughout the week, students attend informative workshops, interactive discussions, corporate tours mentoring sessions, business luncheons and a college fair for a first-hand look at the accounting profession and educational options for their future. The program wraps up with an all-star awards banquet for students, parents, speakers and corporate sponsors where college scholarships and other awards are presented to attendees.

Student are recruited for the ACAP-Ohio Program by Harvey High school business teacher, Ms. Nell Rapport.
