Red Raider Preschool is  part of the Painesville City Local School District, located within Maple Elementary School at 560 W. Jackson Street. Red Raider Preschool classes are taught by certified teachers.

Red Raider meets Ohio's Learning and Development Standards to prepare children for Kindergarten. Students in our program engage in inquiry-based learning projects and themes. Research shows that young children learn best through hands-on, play-based learning centers. Children not only gain cognitive skills but also learn and practice social skills that enable them to collaborate with their peers in a positive environment.

Red Raider Preschool is a program for 3, 4, and 5-year-old children. The program runs during the regular school year, offering a morning session and an afternoon session.

Our student body includes typically developing children as well as students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Children with delays in one or more areas will receive specialized services from an intervention specialist as well as other therapists. All of our teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education.

All children will receive the education they need to prepare them for kindergarten and our teachers use the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards as a guide for instruction.

There is a limited number of free or reduced tuition spots available (based on income) due to a grant from the state of Ohio (ECE). These spots fill quickly so it is best to enroll your child as soon as possible the year prior to attending.
